• Variety Name: Sona Masoori (BPT 5204 / MTU 1010)
• Grain Type: Medium Grain
• Appearance: Distinctly small, slender, and lightweight. Raw rice is bright white; Steam and Sella varieties range from off-white to golden.
• Aroma: Mildly aromatic (subtle, natural fragrance).
• Texture: Soft and fluffy when cooked. It is much lighter on the stomach than IR64 and does not have the “heavy” starch feel of Swarna.
• Cooking Character: Excellent elongation in length, very little increase in width. It is non-sticky and easy to digest.
