General Physical Description:
  • Appearance: Exceptionally wrinkled and shrivelled pods. The skin is thin and easily crushed.
  • Colour: Deep, dark, oily red (often described as “chocolate red”).
  • Length: * Kaddi: 12–15 cm (slender).
    • Dabbi: 8–10 cm (plump/bulky).
  • Stem Details:
    • With Stem: Natural green-to-brown stalk attached.
    • Stemless: Stalk removed manually (preferred for high-end Colour extraction).
  • Flavour/Aroma: Very mild heat with a sweet, slightly smoky, and rich aroma.
  • Purity: 98% to 99% (Whole pods, free from “white” or “yellow” pods).
